Dental Assistant

*Job Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, particularly in pediatric dentistry. *Responsibilities* * Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. * Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to safety protocols. * Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety guidelines. * Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and assist with patient management. * Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems such as Epic. * Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. * Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. * Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries. * Collaborate effectively with the dental team to enhance overall patient experience. *Requirements* * Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. * Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable. * Proficiency in taking X-rays and familiarity with medical imaging techniques. * Understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental procedures. * Ability to monitor and record vital signs accurately. * Experience with dental receptionist duties is a plus. * Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach towards patients, especially children. * Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively. * Certification in Dental Assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred.
