Lead Registered Dental Assistant (Lead RDA)- REQ 23784 Job Summary The Lead Registered Dental Assistant is responsible for providing advanced chairside clinical support while overseeing and coordinating the dental assisting team. This role ensures efficient clinical operations, compliance with regulations, and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties
Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures (restorative, surgical, and preventive) Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials Perform expanded duties permitted under RDA licensure Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols Leadership & Supervision Lead, train, and mentor dental assisting staff Assign daily tasks and manage clinical workflow Monitor staff performance and provide feedback Support onboarding of new team members Administrative & Operational Support Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment maintenance Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and state dental board regulations Coordinate with front office to optimize scheduling and patient flow
Qualifications Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license (state-specific) Current certifications in: Radiation Safety Infection Control Basic Life Support (BLS)
Minimum 2–5 years of dental assisting experience
Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
