Periodontal Dental Assistant

Well established periodontal practice seeking motivated surgical dental assistant.

Candidate should be reliable, organized, professional and have a positive (team player) attitude. Strong communication skills are also important as we focus on getting to know our patients and making them feel at ease in our office. Applicants should be comfortable with newer technology and have basic computer skills. We maintain digital records in Dentrix and use digital X-rays through Dexis and Carestream software.

Job duties includes: • Assisting doctors in surgery, exams and post op appointments • Reviewing schedule with other assistants and team members to ensure preparedness • Clearly communicating pre-op and post op instructions • Documentation of clinical notes • Taking good diagnostic x-rays, CT scans and photographs • Reviewing medical histories and preparing pre-surgical forms • Taking alginate impressions and pouring up models • Ordering of dental and implant supplies • Setting up and breaking down rooms for surgeries and exams • Instrument sterilization • Assisting hygienist with charting and x-rays • Knowledge of OSHA compliance and infection control • Ensure equipment remains in good working order • Keep operatories, break room and patient bathroom tidy
