Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health.
• Assess patients’ oral health status by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and conducting oral examinations.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
• Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting patient assessments, treatments, and progress in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Follow infection control protocols adhering to HIPAA regulations, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience in dental office settings with a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is preferred.
• Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and chairside assisting with professionalism and compassion.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards, medical terminology, and medical records management.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
