- Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental concerns.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to enhance their oral health.
- Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow.
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and progress notes in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification.
- Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments.
- Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix, along with familiarity with EMR systems.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required; a passion for working with children is a plus.
