Orthodontic Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our boutique, fee for service, orthodontic office. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. You will assist the orthodontist in various tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow and a positive experience for our patients.

Duties

• Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and treatments, including the placement and adjustment of braces and other orthodontic appliances.
• Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use.
• Perform X-ray procedures as needed, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Utilize dental software for scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and documenting treatment plans.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care related to orthodontics.
• Operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes, assisting in the creation of custom orthodontic appliances.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Collaborate with other dental staff to provide high-quality care in general dentistry as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred, with a strong understanding of dental terminology.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
• A commitment to maintaining a clean, organized work environment while adhering to safety standards.
