Orthodontic Dental Assistant
Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant with an awesome personality to join our dynamic dental team at all locations in NWA. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the orthodontist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual is a plus!
Duties
- Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for patients.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Take digital X-rays as needed, utilizing medical imaging equipment effectively.
- Manage patient records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Utilize dental software for scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and documenting treatment plans.
- Perform chairside assisting duties.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Collaborate with dental receptionists to ensure smooth patient flow within the clinic.
Qualifications
- 1 year experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
- Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles; experience working with children is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members.
