Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment to ensure optimal oral health for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Assess patients' oral health by reviewing medical histories and performing vital signs checks.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist dentists during procedures through chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient management and documentation review.
- Perform medical imaging as required, ensuring quality and accuracy in diagnostic processes.
- Implement aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Stay updated on advancements in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, and dental office practices.
Skills
- Proficient in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred, including working with children in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review processes.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while providing exceptional patient care.
- Previous experience in a dental clinic or office environment is highly desirable.
