Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing chairside assistance, managing dental procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform vital signs assessment and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
  • Utilize 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and patient information.
  • Support four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures in accordance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure.
  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in dental assisting tasks.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security.
  • Experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging, and taking vital signs.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while supporting multiple specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
  • Skills in medical documentation, coding, and familiarity with 3D scanners are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support patients of all ages, especially pediatrics when applicable.
