Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team Fridays from 8:30am-3pm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and a thorough understanding of dental hygiene practices. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, providing preventive care, and supporting overall patient well-being within our general dentistry and pediatric dentistry services. Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and calculus buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure accurate treatment planning.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Take and develop dental radiographs, while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Assist with chairside procedures in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry settings, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical records in electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure infection control standards are upheld and that all clinical areas are properly sanitized.
- Monitor patient vital signs during appointments to identify any health concerns that may impact dental treatment.
Requirements
- Valid NJ state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting.
- Proven experience in dental office environments.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working with pediatric patients and understanding of pediatric dentistry best practices is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in taking medical images and assessing medical records for comprehensive patient care.
- Ability to perform patient care tasks efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach tailored to diverse patient needs.
- Excellent communication skills for educating patients about oral health and collaborating effectively with team members.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology relevant to dental practice management.
