Position Overview

As an Orthodontic Assistant at Iaculli Orthodontics, you will serve as a vital clinical and relational cornerstone of our practice. You will work directly alongside our orthodontist to deliver outstanding treatment experiences, manage clinical workflows efficiently, and build genuine, lasting connections with our patients and their families across our East Cobb and Roswell locations.

Key Responsibilities

*Prepare and seat patients for orthodontic procedures with professionalism and a warm, reassuring manner. *Assist the orthodontist with the placement and removal of braces, wires, bands, and other orthodontic appliances. *Take high-quality digital X-rays, photographs, and impressions/iTero scans for treatment planning. *Provide thorough oral hygiene instructions, appliance care guidance, and patient education. *Accurately maintain and update patient records, treatment progress notes, and clinical documentation. *Sterilize, organize, and maintain all clinical instruments and operatories in strict compliance with OSHA and infection control standards. *Collaborate effectively with the scheduling and front-office team to ensure seamless patient flow across both office locations. *Proactively identify and communicate patient concerns to the orthodontist to enhance treatment outcomes. *Participate actively in team meetings, training sessions, and practice improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

*Minimum 1 year of hands-on orthodontic assisting experience in a clinical setting. *Dental Assisting certification (CDA or equivalent) required; orthodontic-specific certification strongly preferred. *Current radiography (X-ray) certification. *Demonstrated proficiency with orthodontic treatment modalities including fixed appliances, clear aligners such as Spark or Invisalign, and digital imaging systems. *Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine ability to connect with patients of all ages. *Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety. *Ability to remain calm, efficient, and positive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment. *A proactive, team-first attitude and a strong personal work ethic. *Proficiency with practice management software (TOPS preferred but not required).

Preferred Qualifications

*Experience with iTero digital scanning and/or 3D imaging technology. *Bilingual proficiency (Spanish or other languages) is a significant plus. *Familiarity with Spark workflows and case submission processes. *Prior experience in a specialty dental setting with a demonstrated record of patient satisfaction. *Active participation in continuing education or professional orthodontic associations.
