Endodontic Dental Assistant

Fee for service practice focused on providing superior care for every patient. Looking for someone who is reliable, outgoing, independent, charismatic, a team player, and ready to put roots down in our office with us. Previous dental assisting experience is a must with the ability to take x-rays independently.
Responsibilities
Welcome customers in the dental office- Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed- Sterilize instruments according to regulations- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry- Undertake lab tasks as instructed- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked- Schedule appointments- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures. Previous experiencing assisting in an endodontic office is preferred.
Skills
Proven experience as dental assistant- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods- Understanding of health & safety regulations- Capable of taking radiographs and CBCT scans- Good computer skills- Excellent communication and people skills- Attention to detail- Well-organized and reliable- High school diploma- graduating from dental assistant school is preferred- Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
We are offering an hourly rate based on experience.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient comfort
- Take x-rays and a CBCT scan on every patient
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Keep clear notes in each patients chart
- Clean and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Educate patients on post-operative care instructions
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical history
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
- Current certification in dental radiography
- Proficiency in using dental software
- Knowledge of medical coding and HIPAA regulations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
