Duties

  • Chairside assisting for restorative, crown and bridge, extractions, implants, dentures, and hygiene procedures
  • Taking digital radiographs
  • Setting up and breaking down operatories
  • Sterilization and infection controls
  • Assisting with patient education and treatment presentation
  • Maintaining clinical supplies and organization
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
  • Manage medical documentation and records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic.
  • Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients to support comprehensive care and ensure safety during treatments.
  • Provide excellent dental receptionist support by scheduling appointments, updating patient information, and managing patient flow efficiently.
  • Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care while addressing their questions confidently.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Skills

  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix for managing patient records seamlessly.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience with X-ray procedures, including digital imaging and digital scanning.
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessments accurately and support medical documentation efforts.
  • Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties like prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with privacy standards in all interactions.
  • Capable of operating dental software such as Dentrix efficiently while maintaining detailed medical records.
  • Strong communication skills to serve as an effective dental receptionist and team player within a collaborative environment.
