Dentist
Job Description
Clinical Managing Dentist or Prosthodontist
THE OPPORTUNITY A well-regarded general dentistry practice in Chevy Chase, Maryland seeks a skilled, patient-centered clinician to serve as a Clinical Managing Dentist. This is a meaningful leadership role — not a traditional associate position — for a dentist who wants to practice at a high level while taking genuine ownership of the day-to-day clinical environment.
The practice owner will remain engaged and will be on-site regularly, with a schedule that becomes progressively less frequent over 2027. You will be the primary clinician patients see, the person staff look to for clinical direction, and a true steward of the practice's reputation and operation.
THE PRACTICE • Established patient base with strong retention and loyalty • Fee-for-service and selective PPO mix; emphasis on quality over volume • Experienced, stable front office and clinical staff • Modern equipment and digital systems • Located in the heart of Chevy Chase — affluent, professional patient demographic • Practice management software – Dentrix; clean charts and workflows
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES • Deliver comprehensive general dentistry across the full scope of the practice • Serve as the clinical point of contact for patients and staff when owner is off-site • Maintain the practice's treatment philosophy and quality standards • Oversee chairside team performance and daily clinical workflow • Collaborate on treatment planning for complex and high-value cases • Communicate proactively with the owner on clinical decisions, staffing, and patient matters WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR • DMD or DDS with active Maryland license (or in process) • Prosthodontists and experienced GPs equally encouraged to apply • Minimum 4 years of private practice clinical experience • Strong restorative foundation; implant and cosmetic experience a plus • Exceptional patient communication and relationship skills • Comfortable with a degree of clinical autonomy and leadership • Trustworthy, professional, and aligned with a patient-first culture
COMPENSATION & STRUCTURE PRODUCTION BONUS 30–35% of personal collection
MANAGEMENT STIPEND Paid for leadership duties
FUTURE POTENTIAL Equity / buy-in partnership track
THE TRANSITION TIMELINE We are transparent about the roadmap. The onboarding period (fall 2026) is a generously overlapping side-by-side phase — you will meet patients alongside the owner before any independent coverage begins. From December 2026, the owner will be on-site two weeks per month. By mid-2027, you will be the primary clinician most weeks. The goal is a relationship built on trust, not a handoff — which is why we are looking well in advance.
Interested? We'd love to hear from you.
