Pediatric Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our pediatric dental team 1 day a week! Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and ensure a positive experience for our pediatric patients. As a key member of our practice, you will collaborate closely with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive dental services in a friendly, professional environment.

Responsibilities

Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, polishing, and applying fluoride treatments to maintain oral health.

Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.

Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care.

Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system in Open Dental, ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Support infection control procedures by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards.

Skills

Proficiency with dental software systems such as Open Dental for documentation review and record keeping.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.

Experience with pediatric dentistry concepts and providing care for pediatric patients.

Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review for insurance claims or medical records management.

Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric dentistry needs.

Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and safety.
