Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about oral health, possess strong clinical skills, and excel in patient education. As a Dental Hygienist at Distler Family Dentistry, you will play a vital role in promoting dental hygiene and preventive care while delivering exceptional service to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings and oral examinations to assess patients' oral health
- Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
- Remove plaque and calculus from teeth and below the gumline
- Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to prevent tooth decay
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized home care instructions
- Conduct periodontal assessments and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of gum disease
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Perform administrative re-appointment tasks and seeing limited exams during openings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Current state licensure as a Dental Hygienist
- CPR certification
- Proficiency in digital dental radiography
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient care
- Prior experience in a dental office is preferred but not required
