Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral health status.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to safeguard patient and staff health.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, supporting proper billing with medical coding when applicable.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice.
