Dental Hygienist

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including perio scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Imaging procedures ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and documenting findings accurately in electronic records .
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
• Support chairside assisting during various procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and managing infection control standards.
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards.

Qualifications

• Valid state NY licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR systems
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
• Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient comfort and workflow efficiency.
