Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including oral examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic imaging to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Design, implement, and monitor orthodontic treatment plans using appliances such as braces, aligners, retainers, and other corrective devices.
- Collaborate with dental team members to ensure seamless integration of orthodontic care within overall dental health services.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental office standards.
- Educate patients on treatment options, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care to ensure optimal results.
- Perform necessary procedures including dental extractions related to orthodontic needs or other oral surgeries as required.
- Stay current with advancements in orthodontics by participating in continuing education and applying new techniques for improved patient outcomes.
Experience
- Valid state licensure as an Orthodontist with certification from an accredited dental program.
- Demonstrated experience in orthodontic treatment planning and execution using systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft.
- Proven proficiency in general dentistry procedures including dental terminology, infection control, aseptic technique, and medical imaging.
- Hands-on experience with pediatric dentistry, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics, oral surgery, and dental fabrication is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and working with pediatric patients is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and medical records management within a dental clinic setting.
