We are currently seeking candidates with exceptional customer service, clinical skills, and believe in giving patients their best experience to join our team as a Certified Surgical or Dental Assistant. *Duties will initially include the following and then expand with experience: *
- Serve as a welcoming face of our practice, delivering exceptional patient experiences
- Coordinate with the clinical team sterilization, tray set-up, storage of supplies, surgical and medical chart review, follow up with referring doctors, and patient chart documentation.
- Guide new patients through their first visit, providing clear communication and support while taking x-rays, documenting, and discussing their reason for consultation.
- Build positive relationships with patients while collaborating closely with the clinical and business office team.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and patient-centered office environment.
· Coordinate tray and room set-up for surgeries, consults, and post operative patients.
· Answer calls with warmth and compassion when following up on surgery patients, scheduling, confirming, and adjusting appointments to best meet patient needs.
· Gather and verify patient medical history to carefully ensure accuracy and ease of care.
· Ensure all documentation and preparations are completed so each visit runs seamlessly
· Collaborate with our clinical and business teams, as well as referring offices, to resolve coordination of care needs with efficiency and care
· Serve as a trusted resource for patients, responding to questions and providing reassurance
· Welcome and assist surgery patients and their families on the day of surgery, offering calm support during check-in and post operative care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinical practice policies
Education and Certifications Required:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree (expected if desire is professional school)
- Dental Assistant Certification (DANB)
- Current BLS/ACLS certification. PALS will be required

- Have 2-3 years of experience in a surgical, dental, or medical office
- Have 1-2 years of experience in a hospital OR environment
- Have enthusiasm and a love for being highly organized, detailed, and talking with people

- Have excellent written skills for communication through patient documentation, letters, emails, and texts.

- Recently graduated from college and are seeking experience for a career in health care or professional school

- Computer literate with proficiency in Windows based programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of communication skills required when working with patients aged 2 to 100 and their families. This includes patients and families whose primary language is not English.
- Willingness to learn medical terminology and procedures relating to the oral cavity, head and neck.
- Highly organized with the ability to effectively prioritize duties and work as a team member.
- Enthusiasm to learn every day while caring for patients.
- Ability to positively address patient concerns and effectively resolve or seek assistance to solve challenge.
- Ability to communicate respectfully, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
