Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of dental procedures including dental examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and oral surgery with precision and care.
- Assess patient needs through thorough patient assessments and develop personalized treatment plans aligned with best practices.
- Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses and treatment options clearly to patients.
- Operate dental equipment such as digital X-ray machines and medical imaging tools while maintaining strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques.
- Document all patient interactions meticulously in medical records following HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance.
- Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and office staff to deliver seamless four-handed dentistry for efficient patient flow.
- Stay current with advancements in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery to provide innovative care solutions.
- Maintain knowledge of dental office software systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, billing, and record management.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety protocols including infection control procedures and medical documentation standards.
Qualifications
- Valid state license to practice dentistry with current DEA registration if applicable.
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic or dental office environment with a focus on general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for managing patient records and appointments.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical imaging techniques.
- Skilled in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), prosthodontics procedures, and oral surgery techniques.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately while explaining treatment options clearly.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding medical records confidentiality and security standards.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry for optimal efficiency.
