Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position requires strong organizational skills, a commitment to infection control, and a thorough understanding of dental assisting practices in both general and pediatric dentistry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary tools and materials.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
  • Manage patient records using dental software system Open Dental
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols throughout the practice.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize office efficiency

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental practice.
  • Familiarity with dental software system Open Dental is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is an advantage.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
