Dental Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental assisting, including experience with various dental procedures and familiarity with EMR systems. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic while assisting the dentist and providing support to patients.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas following infection control protocols.
• Take and develop X-rays, including medical imaging as required.
• Manage patient records, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
• Schedule appointments and manage the dental reception area as needed.
• Perform vital signs checks and assist with pediatric dentistry when necessary.
• Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient information and treatment plans.
• Support various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR systems; experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation practices.
• Familiarity with chairside assisting techniques and 3D scanning technology is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control measures.
• Ability to perform basic medical coding and maintain accurate medical records.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
