About us Two privately owned dental practices. One standard of care.
Philly Smiles has been a fixture of the Rittenhouse Square community for over 30 years — built on long-term relationships, honest guidance, and the kind of care that keeps patients coming back generation after generation. Our home in the historic Frank Furness building at 1804 Rittenhouse Square reflects who we are: timeless, trusted, and deeply rooted in this neighborhood.
Dentists on the Square is our multi-specialty sister practice, a block away at 1845 Walnut Street, bringing general dentists, specialists, and hygienists together under one roof.
We are not a high-volume clinic. We are a team that believes the best dentistry happens when patients feel known, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. That belief drives how we hire — starting with the very first voice and face a patient encounters.
The opportunity You are the front door of our practice — often the first and last impression a patient has of us. As we rebuild and grow following the reopening of Dentists on the Square, we're looking for a Front Desk Patient Care Coordinator who brings warmth, sharp organization, and a calm, steady presence to a busy front office.
You'll work closely with our Senior Practice Manager and office manager to keep the day running smoothly — while our practice management systems handle the repetitive lifting behind the scenes, so you can stay focused on the patient in front of you (or on the phone).
What you will own First impressions and patient flow Greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out, and keeping the day's schedule moving smoothly for patients and providers alike.
Scheduling and communication Coordinating appointments, confirmations, and reschedules across both practices, working alongside our scheduling tools rather than fighting them.
Insurance and billing support Verifying coverage, collecting co-pays and payments, and helping patients understand their benefits and treatment costs clearly and patiently.
Records and administrative accuracy Handling patient records requests, updating charts, and keeping documentation clean and current — with full respect for patient privacy.
Being the calm in the room Whether a patient is anxious, running late, or has a billing question, you're the person who makes them feel taken care of.
What we are looking for Prior experience in a dental or medical front office preferred — comfort with insurance verification and scheduling is a strong plus A warm, patient-first communication style, in person and on the phone Strong organizational instincts and comfort multitasking during busy periods Comfort learning practice management software and other digital tools Philadelphia-based and available for in-person work across both offices Compensation and benefits Pay based on experience. We offer a standard workweek, medical insurance with employer contribution, a retirement savings plan with employer participation, and paid time off beginning after six months.
How to apply Tell us about your front office background and what makes you the kind of person patients remember for the right reasons.
