We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! Duties

  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to prevent oral disease.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized care plans.
  • Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Capture and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), ensuring accurate documentation of treatments, medical records, and coding.
  • Maintain strict infection prevention protocols by sterilizing equipment, practicing aseptic techniques, and adhering to healthcare infection control standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and medical information during patient visits to support overall health assessments.
  • Assist with medical imaging procedures and ensure all dental equipment is functioning correctly for safe use.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality at all times while providing compassionate care in a fast-paced dental environment.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
  • Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices.
  • Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment and performing X-ray procedures safely.
  • Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration; ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and maintaining patient confidentiality diligently.
  • Ability to work efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques while maintaining high standards of infection prevention management.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review, medical coding, and medical records management.
