Oral Surgery Assistant

Job Description

Looking to add a part time experienced Dental Assistant to our team. Qualified applicant must be outgoing and friendly, possess a positive attitude, be a team player, a hard worker and have the ability to multi-task.

Utilizing your skills and talents, you will assist the Oral Surgeon before, during, and after oral surgery by performing the following:

• Place equipment and supplies in operatory and arrange instruments, according to instructions
• Take digital PA's and panoramic x-rays
• Take and record patient’s vitals in patient’s chart
• Ability to hand instruments and supplies to Oral Surgeon, hold retractors, suctions and perform other tasks as directed by Oral Surgeon during procedure desired
• Take digital impressions
• Provide patient with postoperative instructions prescribed by Oral Surgeon
• Wash and sterilize equipment and instruments and clean operatory following procedure
• Take CT scans

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Dental Assistant or completion of a dental assistant program
• Experience taking x-rays
• Prior experience with IV sedation a plus
• High School diploma'
