What Makes This Position Different?
We’re investing in our hygiene department—not to squeeze more patients into the day—but to make each appointment better.
Our philosophy is simple:
The patient still deserves one hour.
Our goal is to make that one hour more organized, less stressful, and more fulfilling for both the patient and the hygienist.
We’re developing new systems that reduce workflow interruptions, improve efficiency, and allow hygienists to spend more time where they create the greatest value:
- Building patient relationships
- Educating patients
- Diagnosing periodontal disease
- Identifying restorative opportunities
- Delivering comprehensive care
⸻ How We Practice
At Great Lakes Dental, we believe exceptional care starts with exceptional diagnosis. We’ve intentionally built systems that allow our hygienists to practice comprehensively rather than simply “clean teeth.”
Every New Patient Receives a Two-Hour Comprehensive Experience
Our new patient appointments are designed to build relationships, establish trust, and develop a complete understanding of each patient’s oral health.
This dedicated time allows our hygienists to thoroughly evaluate the patient, educate them about their findings, and collaborate with our doctors to develop comprehensive treatment recommendations.
We believe rushing a first visit is a missed opportunity—for both the patient and the clinician.
Our Standard of Care Includes
- Comprehensive periodontal evaluation
- Full-mouth series of radiographs
- Low-dose CBCT imaging
- 3D intraoral digital scan
- Professional smile and facial photography
- Intraoral photography
- Voice-activated periodontal charting
- Comprehensive doctor examination
- Patient education focused on long-term oral health
Technology That Improves the Patient Experience
We invest in technology because it allows our team to deliver a better experience—not simply because it’s new.
Our hygiene department includes:
- Voice-activated periodontal charting
- Low-dose cone beam CT imaging (CBCT)
- Digital intraoral scanners
- Intraoral cameras in every operatory
- Professional photographic studio for facial, smile, and clinical photography
- Digital radiography
- Heated Woodpecker air-polishing system using glycine powder for exceptionally comfortable biofilm removal and stain management
Patients consistently comment on how comfortable and gentle the air-polishing experience feels compared with traditional polishing methods.
Hygiene at Great Lakes Dental
Our hygienists are true clinicians.
They are expected—and empowered—to identify disease early, educate patients confidently, collaborate closely with our doctors, and help patients make informed decisions about their care.
We believe technology should support those conversations, not replace them.

⸻
Why Choose Great Lakes Dental?
Many practices talk about teamwork.
We intentionally build it.
Many practices purchase technology.
We integrate it into better patient care.
Many practices say they value hygienists.
We’re actively investing in systems that improve your daily experience, reduce unnecessary frustrations, and allow you to practice at your highest level.
Our goal isn’t simply to hire another hygienist.
Our goal is to welcome another long-term teammate who wants to grow professionally while making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives.
⸻
Ready to Love Where You Work?
If you’re looking for a practice that values clinical excellence, teamwork, advanced technology, and truly exceptional patient care, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply today—we’d be excited to meet you.
⸻
I think this is already stronger than the average DentalPost listing, but I would take it one step further. Instead of looking like a job posting, I’d make it feel like an Apple product launch—less “We’re hiring” and more “Here’s why exceptional people choose to build their careers here.” That style tends to attract the caliber of clinician you’re looking for.
