Treatment Coordinator / Front Desk Join Our Team at Lakewood Smiles!
Lakewood Smiles is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and patient-focused Treatment Coordinator / Front Desk team member to join our growing private dental practice.
This is an important role in our office. You will be the primary point of contact for patients at the front desk while also helping patients understand their recommended treatment, insurance benefits, and financial options.
We are looking for someone who is confident discussing treatment and finances, highly organized, comfortable managing multiple responsibilities, and genuinely enjoys creating an exceptional patient experience.
This is currently a part-time position with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position as the practice continues to grow. We are currently open every other Saturday.
Responsibilities: Treatment Coordination- -Present treatment plans clearly, confidently, and compassionately. -Review recommended treatment, fees, estimated insurance benefits, and patient portions. -Help patients understand financial and payment options. -Assist patients with third-party financing options such as CareCredit, Cherry, and Sunbit. -Schedule accepted treatment and help patients move forward with their recommended care. -Follow up consistently with patients who have unscheduled or outstanding treatment. -Maintain accurate treatment plans, financial estimates, and patient documentation. -Communicate with the doctor and clinical team regarding patient questions and treatment needs. -Help improve treatment acceptance through excellent communication, education, and follow-up.
Front Desk & Patient Coordination: -Serve as the primary point of contact for patients at the front desk. -Greet and check patients in and out while providing a welcoming experience. -Answer incoming phone calls, texts, and patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner. -Schedule and manage patient appointments efficiently. -Confirm appointments and help maintain a productive schedule. -Collect and post patient payments accurately. -Verify PPO dental insurance benefits and eligibility. -Prepare accurate patient estimates based on insurance benefits. -Submit and follow up on insurance claims and pre-authorizations as needed. -Maintain accurate patient information and documentation. -Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointments, balances, insurance, and treatment. -Help keep the front office organized and running smoothly throughout the day. -Work closely with the doctor, hygienists, and dental assistants to provide a seamless patient experience.
Qualifications -Previous dental front-office or Treatment Coordinator experience preferred. -Knowledge of dental terminology and common dental procedures. -Experience with PPO dental insurance, benefit verification, claims, and treatment estimates. -Comfortable discussing treatment costs and financial arrangements with patients. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. -Ability to prioritize and multitask in a busy dental office. -Comfortable independently managing front-desk responsibilities. -Professional, dependable, positive, and patient-focused. -Experience with Oryx practice management software is a plus but not required. -Spanish-speaking is a plus but not required.
Preferred Experience: -Presenting comprehensive or higher-value treatment plans. -Following up with unscheduled treatment and converting treatment into scheduled appointments. -PPO insurance verification, claims, and pre-authorizations. -Third-party financing platforms such as CareCredit, Cherry, and Sunbit. -Demonstrated ability to improve case acceptance while maintaining a patient-first approach.
What We're Looking For
The right person for this position is more than someone who answers phones or schedules appointments. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the patient experience from the front desk through treatment acceptance and scheduling.
You should be comfortable having financial conversations, following up with patients, staying organized, and helping ensure that patients do not fall through the cracks.
