Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Summary

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining safety protocols
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to individual needs
• Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
• Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA compliance to safeguard patient confidentiality and safety

Requirements

• Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with proficiency in dental terminology and equipment
• Knowledge of dental x-ray procedures, medical imaging, and medical terminology for accurate patient assessment
• Familiarity with EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and management
• Strong understanding of infection control practices, healthcare infection prevention, and aseptic techniques
• Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction, education, and team collaboration
• Ability to perform dental assisting duties such as chairside assisting when needed while maintaining a focus on patient care
