Prime Dental, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to individual needs.
  • Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Open Dental, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times.
  • Monitor infection prevention protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing dental instruments, and managing infection control procedures diligently.
  • Review documentation for accuracy, update medical coding as necessary, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
  • Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments; previous dental office experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records and scheduling.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care and foster a positive experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic technique and sterilization processes.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and patient confidentiality.
