Dental Assistant

Position Summary

A modern, privately owned dental practice in the Lucas–Allen area is seeking an experienced Registered Dental Assistant to join its growing clinical team.

We are looking for a reliable, organized, and patient-focused dental assistant who takes pride in providing excellent clinical support and creating a comfortable experience for patients. Our practice values quality dentistry, teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail.

The practice provides comprehensive general dentistry along with cosmetic, restorative, endodontic, surgical, implant, preventive, periodontal, and emergency dental care. This position offers meaningful exposure to a wide range of procedures and opportunities to continue developing advanced clinical skills.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review the daily schedule and prepare treatment rooms for each patient and procedure
• Ensure instruments, materials, equipment, medications, consent forms, and supplies are ready before treatment
• Greet and seat patients while helping them feel comfortable and informed
• Review and update medical histories, medications, allergies, and other relevant health information
• Obtain blood pressure and other required vital signs
• Take diagnostic-quality digital radiographs and intraoral photographs
• Perform digital impressions and intraoral scans as assigned
• Provide efficient four-handed chairside assistance
• Anticipate procedural needs and support efficient clinical workflow
• Monitor patient comfort and communicate clinical concerns promptly
• Complete accurate clinical documentation and treatment notes as assigned
• Review postoperative instructions within the scope of the RDA role
• Maintain complete and efficient treatment-room turnover
• Clean, package, sterilize, and properly store dental instruments
• Follow OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and practice infection-control requirements
• Maintain required sterilization, waterline, and equipment-monitoring records
• Monitor clinical supplies and assist with inventory organization
• Track laboratory cases and confirm they are available before scheduled appointments
• Assist with clinical opening and closing responsibilities
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment

• Crowns and bridges
• Root canal therapy
• Simple and surgical extractions
• Implant placement and restoration
• Bone grafting and other surgical procedures
• Dentures and immediate dentures
• Cosmetic and complex restorative treatment
• Digital impressions and scanning
• Emergency dental care
• Nitrous oxide sedation
• Preventive and periodontal procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas Registered Dental Assistant registration in good standing
• Current hands-on BLS/CPR certification
• At least two years of chairside dental assisting experience, preferably in general dentistry
• Experience taking diagnostic-quality digital radiographs
• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, materials, and common procedures
• Strong understanding of sterilization, aseptic technique, and infection-control protocols
• Ability to provide efficient four-handed dentistry
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Reliable attendance and dependable transportation
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative dental team

Preferred Qualifications

• Nitrous oxide monitoring certification
• Coronal polishing certification
• Experience assisting with implants, bone grafting, surgical extractions, or other oral surgery
• Experience assisting with root canal therapy
• Experience with cosmetic or complex restorative cases
• Experience using an intraoral scanner and other digital dental technology
• Familiarity with electronic dental records and dental practice-management software
• Experience managing clinical inventory or tracking laboratory cases
• Bilingual communication skills

Experience with every preferred procedure is not required. We welcome candidates who have a strong general-dentistry foundation and are motivated to continue learning.
