Oral Surgery Dental Assistant
Position Purpose: We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and patient-focused Dental Surgical Assistant to join our oral surgery team. This role is essential in supporting our surgeon during procedures while ensuring a safe, efficient, and exceptional experience for every patient. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality care. You will play a key role in both clinical support and patient interaction, contributing directly to the success of the practice.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
• Chairside Surgical Support: Assist surgeon during oral surgery procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and available.
• Patient Care: Prepare patients for surgery, review post-operative instructions, and provide reassurance to ensure a positive experience.
• Sterilization & Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization protocols and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
• Operatory Preparation: Set up and break down surgical rooms efficiently, ensuring readiness for each procedure.
• Radiography & Imaging: Take and process dental radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging as needed.
• Inventory & Supplies: Monitor and maintain clinical inventory, ensuring adequate stock of surgical materials and supplies.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with surgeon, front office, and clinical team members to ensure seamless patient flow and operational efficiency.
• Versatility: Support additional clinical and administrative tasks as needed to meet the needs of the practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required • Previous dental or oral surgery assisting experience preferred** • Current certification as a Registered Dental Assistant • DAANCE Certification preferred ** • Knowledge of sterilization protocols and infection control standards • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced surgical environment • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Positive attitude with a team-oriented mindset • Willingness to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibilities
