Job Overview Merry Family Dentistry (formerly Downtown Family Dental) has an opening for a full time Dental Hygienist. We are a well-established and respected dental office with a large community of loyal patients which has necessitated the building of a new facility which opened on September 3, 2024. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and educating patients on oral health practices. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings (1 hour cleanings allowed for adults and 40 minutes for pediatric prophys) and examinations to assess patients' oral health.
- Utilize dental digital imaging systems to capture necessary diagnostic images.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document patient care in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Stay updated on advancements in general dentistry practices and techniques.
- Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient care and improve office efficiency.
Skills
- Proficient in dental terminology and procedures relevant to general dentistry.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to oral health and dental care.
- Familiarity with dental imaging systems for diagnostic purposes.
- Strong commitment to patient care, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of confidentiality in patient records.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
