We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chairside Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting with specialized experience in orthodontics. This position is for part-time, two days per week. Previous experience in this role is highly preferred, as well as a dedication to ensuring that our patients have a positive and rewarding experience at our office. The Chairside Orthodontic Assistant will be instrumental in delivering exceptional patient experiences while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and infection control.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during chairside procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary dental equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for procedures.
- Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems, adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
- Take dental X-rays and 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed.
- Provide comprehensive patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and assisting with post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain strict infection prevention protocols through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Support dental sterilization processes and instrument processing to uphold infection control standards across all clinical activities.
- Collaborate effectively with the team to ensure efficient patient flow, manage appointments using patient management software, and handle administrative duties as needed.
