Periodontal Dental Hygienist
Job Description
Have you ever considered a career in periodontics but never had the opportunity to learn the specialty? Davidson Periodontics is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. Both doctors work closely with our hygienists every day and provide one-on-one mentoring to help develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become an excellent periodontal hygienist.
We believe excellent periodontal hygienists are developed through mentorship, education, and experience—not previous specialty experience. No previous periodontal experience is required. If you want to learn, we will teach you!
Our compensation package includes health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and a 401(k) with a 4% employer match!
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Wednesday: 7:00 AM–1:00 PM Every Friday off Approximately 30 clinical hours per week
What makes our privately owned practice different?
Most hygienists see approximately five patients per day. Periodontal maintenance appointments are scheduled for 90 minutes. An assistant helps with periodontal charting. Modern equipment including air polishers, intraoral cameras, and PDT instruments. Direct mentoring from two periodontists. Time to provide treatment, education, and build relationships with patients.
Our hygienists are educators, clinicians, and advocates for their patients. They are given the time needed to complete periodontal charting, review radiographs, provide treatment, and educate patients about their periodontal health.
We do not ask our hygienists to meet production goals, track quotas, or participate in treatment acceptance discussions. Treatment recommendations are made by the doctors, and financial arrangements are reviewed by our treatment coordinator. This allows our hygienists to focus on what they were trained to do: provide excellent patient care and education.
Areas of practice and experience include:
Periodontal maintenance Implant maintenance Scaling and root planing Local anesthesia Arestin placement Patient education
As part of a specialty practice, our hygienists continue to develop their clinical knowledge and skills through daily collaboration with both doctors.
Compensation includes:
Health insurance Paid time off Paid holidays 401(k) with a 4% employer match
Our practice has very little staff turnover, supportive doctors, and a collaborative team environment. Many members of our team have been with the practice for years or even decades.
If you are looking for a practice that values quality over quantity, provides the time needed to care for patients, and is committed to helping you grow professionally, we would love to connect!
