Job overview:
We are a well established, private dental office in search of a dedicated and experienced registered Dental Hygienist with excellent communication skills to join our family oriented practice. We are seeking a patient oriented and friendly team player. Our patients are like family and many of them have been going to this office for 20+ years. Currently, we are looking for a Dental Hygienist to ideally work Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 5 PM. We are also flexible with days as our office is open from Monday through Thursday with lunch to refresh from 1 to 2pm. There is one column for our hygiene appointments with one patient per hour (SRP’s are longer).
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Review and record patient’s medical and dental history
- Educate on oral hygiene practices
- Partnering with the dentist to provide the patient with a comprehensive periodontal treatment plan, using non-surgical techniques
- Taking digital x-rays as needed
- Intra-oral scanning using Itero
- Local anesthesia
- Laser treatment, if licensed
- Arestin or another medicament placement
- Application of fluoride, varnish, and chlorhexidine irrigation
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and the hygiene room, to infection control protocols
- Pre-book patient‘s next recall visit
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program and licensed in Nevada
- Current CPR Certification
Experience:
- One to three years of dental hygiene experience preferred
- Familiarity with Dentrix dental software and Dexis digital radiography preferred
