Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental history reviews, to develop accurate diagnoses using advanced medical imaging and dental terminology.
- Perform root canal therapy, endodontic surgeries, and other specialized procedures with precision and aseptic technique.
- Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to coordinate comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients on their diagnoses, treatment options, post-procedure care, and oral health maintenance strategies.
- Utilize practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing processes.
- Uphold infection control standards and adhere to all safety protocols related to oral surgery, dental implants, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of endodontics procedures including root canal therapy, apical surgery, and retreatments.
- Proficiency with dental imaging techniques and understanding of anatomy relevant to endodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Strong client communication skills to explain complex procedures clearly and empathetically.
- Experience with dental fabrication techniques related to restorations following endodontic treatments.
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems such as Epic or Dentrix for accurate medical documentation.
- Ability to perform general dentistry tasks when needed, including dental extractions or assisting with oral surgery cases.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
