Dental Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support to our dental practitioners and ensure a smooth workflow within the practice. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages.

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials. Prepare patients for treatment by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort. Take dental X-rays and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Manage appointment scheduling and patient follow-ups as a dental receptionist when needed. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging as required. Ensure all dental instruments are sterilized and organized according to safety standards. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Requirements

Proficiency in taking X-rays and familiarity with medical imaging systems. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental practices. Ability to monitor vital signs accurately. Experience with Open Dental or similar dental practice management software is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
