Duties
- Oral Health & Periodontal Assessment: Record vital signs, screen for oral cancer, evaluate tissue health, and perform full-mouth periodontal probing.
- Prophylaxis & Periodontal Therapy: Perform ultrasonic and manual scaling to remove plaque, calculus, and stains, including deep scaling and root planing (SRP).
- Diagnostic Imaging: Expose and process diagnostic bitewings, periapicals, and panoramic/CBCT radiographs.
- Preventive Treatments: Apply topical fluorides, place pit-and-fissure sealants, apply desensitizers, and deliver localized antimicrobials.
- Patient Education: Instruct patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutritional habits, and the systemic-oral health connection.
- Clinical Documentation: Chart periodontal depths, update medical and medication histories, and log completed treatments in the practice management software.
- Sterilization & Infection Control: Maintain operatory disinfection, sterilize instruments, and uphold strict OSHA/CDC safety standards.
Skills
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR)
- Registered Dental Hygienist
- CPR certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
