Duties

• Oral Health & Periodontal Assessment: Record vital signs, screen for oral cancer, evaluate tissue health, and perform full-mouth periodontal probing.
• Prophylaxis & Periodontal Therapy: Perform ultrasonic and manual scaling to remove plaque, calculus, and stains, including deep scaling and root planing (SRP).
• Diagnostic Imaging: Expose and process diagnostic bitewings, periapicals, and panoramic/CBCT radiographs.
• Preventive Treatments: Apply topical fluorides, place pit-and-fissure sealants, apply desensitizers, and deliver localized antimicrobials.
• Patient Education: Instruct patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutritional habits, and the systemic-oral health connection.
• Clinical Documentation: Chart periodontal depths, update medical and medication histories, and log completed treatments in the practice management software.
• Sterilization & Infection Control: Maintain operatory disinfection, sterilize instruments, and uphold strict OSHA/CDC safety standards.

Skills

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR)
• Registered Dental Hygienist
• CPR certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
