Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures, including exams, restorations, oral surgery, and prosthodontics, utilizing advanced dental assisting techniques.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using state-of-the-art medical imaging equipment to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Manage patient records and medical documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to promote a positive experience for young patients.
• Educate patients and their guardians on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry needs.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient management using patient management software while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.

Skills

• Proficiency in dental assisting with experience in pediatric dentistry, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation.
• Skilled in dental sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and healthcare infection prevention practices.
• Experience with dental x-ray procedures, including digital imaging and 3D scanner technology.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar patient management software.
• Ability to accurately document medical records and interpret medical terminology relevant to pediatric dentistry.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with young patients, parents, and team members while ensuring clinical confidentiality policies are upheld.
