Dental Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols.
• Take dental X-rays and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Open Dental and Dexis ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Conduct chairside assisting duties, including preparing materials for procedures and providing support to the dentist as needed.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when required.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
• Maintain an organized dental clinic environment that promotes efficiency and patient comfort. Skills
• Proficient in using EMR systems, particularly Open Dental and Dexis.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Experience with general dentistry, prosthodontics, and medical terminology is preferred.
• Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively while assisting the dentist during procedures.
• Competence in taking X-rays and utilizing 3D scanners for dental imaging.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental practices.
• Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
