Periodontal Dental Assistant
Job Description
About the Role The chairside assistant works closely with Dr. Pechter. The assistant greets and seats patients, preparing them to see the doctor. For initial patients, the assistant records notes in the patient chart as the doctor performs the examination, and enters periodontal charting data into a computerized charting program. For surgical patients, the assistant hands instruments to the doctor as therapy is being performed, while also providing hi-speed suction and retraction as needed.
We work four days per week, with Wednesdays and weekends off. This allows more time for all to attend to other home and family responsibilities. Only working two consecutive days before a break, is a very relaxing work schedule.
What You'll Do • Four handed chairside assist with doctor • Clean up and set up operatories before and after patient visits • Take digital intraoral and panoramic radiographs • Instrument sterilization • Help out at front desk, as needed
What You'll Bring Required: • Past Dental assisting experience, or Certified Dental Assisting training program graduate • Florida dental radiography certification Preferred: • Dental assisting Expanded functions certification. • Experience working in sterile environment for dental implant surgeries
