Job Description
Key Responsibilities Patient Interaction and Experience: Greet and assist patients, facilitate check-ins and check-outs, answer questions, manage complaints, and provide resources to create a welcoming environment. Maintain cultural humility, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions.
Scheduling and Appointment Coordination: Schedule and confirm appointments, review upcoming appointments for accuracy, assess emergency care needs, and manage patient intake forms. Ensure proper documentation and eligibility verification before appointments.
Insurance and Billing Operations: Verify patient insurance coverage, process claims, post payments, collect co-pays, and maintain accurate billing records. Handle Medicaid and other insurance types, update fee schedules, and ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
Administrative Support: Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, scanning, and word processing. Manage multi-line phone systems, take messages, make referrals, and maintain patient records in electronic health systems.
Technology and Systems Management: Use dental practice management software for scheduling, billing, and record-keeping. Maintain accurate patient information and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
Required Skills Technical Skills: Proficiency in dental software, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, insurance verification, claims submission, and appointment scheduling.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, empathy, active listening, conflict resolution, multitasking, and professional phone etiquette.
Organizational Skills: Attention to detail, reliability, timeliness, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
