Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our dental team. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Take X-rays as directed by the dentist, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the office.
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Utilize Dentrix software for patient management and record keeping.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding.
Requirements
- Familiarity with Cerec.
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Knowledge of general dentistry practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with X-Ray technology and safety protocols.
- Strong understanding of medical documentation processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Certification in dental assisting is a plus but not required.
