Dental Hygienist

• Assess patients’ oral health status by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking vital signs, and conducting oral examinations.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort.
• Capture and review dental radiographs (medical imaging) accurately while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
• Document all patient interactions, treatments, and assessments clearly in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines diligently to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Skills

• Proficiency with dental software systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-specific care approaches.
• Skilled in chairside assisting, including aseptic technique and managing dental instruments efficiently.
• Ability to perform vital signs assessment, medical coding, and review of medical records accurately.
• Excellent patient care skills with a warm, professional demeanor that fosters trust and comfort.
