NEED A REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST FOR WEDNESDAYS ONLY IN OUR MIDTOWN LOCATION

Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
• Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside support, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques
• Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays on Dentrix Imaging while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic health record (EHR) system Dentrix
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely

Skills

• Proficiency in dental office management software Dentrix
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures
• Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care tailored to children’s needs
• Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments and maintaining aseptic technique
• Ability to assess vital signs accurately and interpret medical imaging results
• Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation review, and medical coding for billing purposes
• Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and security of medical records
• Prior experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments is highly desirable
