Dental Hygienist

Duties

• Perform dental hygiene procedures such as dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide oral health instructions
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation as needed
• Perform periodontal charting and assist with periodontal therapy
• Assist the dentist during dental procedures
• Maintain and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Document patient treatment records accurately in electronic health record systems (Eaglesoft)

Qualifications

• Valid state dental hygiene license
• Knowledge of dental office procedures and infection control protocols
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (Eaglesoft)
• Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices
• Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
