Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and dental examinations to identify oral health issues.
• Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring comfort and safety for young patients.
• Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document treatment plans, medical records, and patient information accurately.
• Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health.
• Follow infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Dental Hygienist license to practice in Massachusetts.
• Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in medical imaging and vital signs measurement.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review is a plus.
