Orthodontic Dental Assistant
Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated, friendly and skilled Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our orthodontic dental team. The position is open for Mondays and Wednesdays. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthodontist during procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent chairside manners, and the ability to work efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop X-rays, adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Maintain accurate dental records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including patient check-in and check-out.
- Utilize 3D scanners for impressions when required, demonstrating proficiency in modern dental technology.
- Present orthodontic treatment and make financial arrangements with patients and parents

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant, preferably in an orthodontic or pediatric dentistry setting.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with dental documentation, coding, and record management.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
