Duties
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensuring patient safety through proper aseptic technique.
- Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix, Ascend, documenting medical history, treatment plans, and medical documentation accurately.
- Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient well-being before, during, and after procedures to support comprehensive patient care.
- Support front desk operations by handling patient management software tasks, scheduling appointments, and assisting the dental receptionist with administrative duties.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while ensuring all dental sterilization procedures are followed meticulously to uphold infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure required.
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend; experience with medical coding is a plus.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients about oral health care and treatment procedures effectively.

Pay: $28.76 - $34.64 per hour
